Family Fun for Fall in Houston at Monkey Joe’s Katy!

Posted on Sep 22, 2017

It’s fall! As the temperatures finally start to even out, it’s time for families to get together and enjoy all the seasonal activities the Houston area has to offer. Check out some of our favorite ways to celebrate this October!

First of all, don’t forget about the most important parts of the fall: pumpkins and costumes! Take the family to a pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin for carving. Then spend some time picking out the best Halloween costumes. Make sure to go early in the month so you beat the crowd.

  1. Movies under the Moon - on Saturday, October 21st, bring your family, friends, and picnic blankets for a screening of Frankenweenie outside on the lawn.
  2. Boo on the Boardwalk - Kemah Boardwalk has a free event with trick-or-treating and costume contests. It also offers two haunted houses--one for kids, and one for the more adventurous!
  3. Friday Flicks on the Lawn - Green Street Downtown’s Friday Flicks on the Lawn is showing Ghostbusters on October 20th.
  4. Texas Renaissance Festival - The country’s largest renaissance festival runs through November 26th. Enjoy outdoor entertainment, music, shops, crafters, and dancing, with trick-or-treating, costume contests, and kettle corn eating contests on Halloween weekend.

Here at Monkey Joe’s in Katy, fall is one of our favorite times of year, and not just because you can trick-or-treat almost every night between now and Halloween. If your outdoor plans get rained out, come visit us for some fun in the Jungle! Follow us on Facebook to keep track of our upcoming events!
