Donate to Support Alex’s Lemonade Stand at Monkey Joe’s in Katy, TX

Posted on Jun 08, 2016

During the month of June, Monkey Joe’s in Katy proudly partners with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to do their part in raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer treatment and research.

How did Alex’s Lemonade Stand begin?

By her first birthday, young Alexandra “Alex” Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer. In 2000, right at her fourth birthday, Alex came up with the idea that she wanted to build a lemonade stand to raise money for others in her same predicament. With the help of her brother, she built her first lemonade stand and quickly began raising awareness and funds for her cause! Alex managed to raise about $2,000 at her first stand and soon, others in her community were setting up their own stands to help out. Unfortunately, she lost her battle with cancer, but the effects she made on the world are still going strong. Her parents have kept the foundation going and her legacy strong, having now raised over $125 million dollars for childhood cancer.

How is Monkey Joe’s involved?

Monkey Joe’s is an honored supporter of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Everyday, we see so many bright and caring children come through our doors to play and we want to help inspire our youth to be like Alex and make a change in the world. During the weekend of June 10th through the 12th, we will be taking donations for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Help us raise money for with unbelieveable foundation.
