Summer Rain Showers Won’t Keep Us From Playing!

Posted on May 27, 2016

If you are a St. Louis resident then you know that summer comes with a mix of sunny skies, humid days, and random rainshowers. When entertaining your little ones on summer break, there is nothing worse than getting stuck inside as you wait for the rain to pass. Don’t let Mother Nature keep you from having fun with the kids on rainy days! There are plenty of other indoor activities that you and your little ones can enjoy when the weather is keeping you from enjoying the outdoors.

Whip Up Something in the Kitchen

Rainy days are perfect for baking up a storm with the kids! Remember all those kid-friendly recipes you pinned for a rainy day on your Pinterest account? Well now is your time to give them a try! Pick a yummy recipe and have the kids help measure out and mix the ingredients. They will be so excited to try their yummy treat, their rainy day cabin fever will be long gone!

Get Dressed Up

Do you still have old Halloween costumes stored away in a closet or basement? Pull them out and let your kid’s imagination run wild in a game of dress up! Dresses, tiaras, cowboy hats, even some of your old clothes- let them use their imagination and creativity to play and create a world of their own. To add a little extra fun to your game of dress up, build a blanket fort for the kids to play in!

Visit the Jungle!

When the creativity and imagination have gone dry, it’s time to get out of the house for a breath of fresh air. Let your kids run wild and get out their energy at Monkey Joe’s in St. Louis! Our playground is a mommy-favorite indoor playground for kids. With exciting obstacle courses, bounce houses, and arcade games, your kids 2 to 12 years old are sure to be entertained for hours! Walk in for an impromptu visit or call the neighbors for a group playdate. Monkey Joe’s in St. Louis is open 7 days a week and always ready for playtime!
