Summer Fun at Church Camp

VBS is just around the corner! If you’re a children’s leader, we know you’re hard at work developing curriculum, scheduling, and assembling a team of caring teachers and volunteers for church summer camps. Monkey Joe’s Pointe Orlando is proud to support religious groups in our community. Make this year the best year yet with these tips on how to prepare for church camp.

How to Prep for Summer Church Camp

  1. Pick your dates. Make sure you check the Pointe Orlando community calendar for major events that may conflict with your chosen VBS or camp dates.
  2. Choose your curriculum. What ages are the kids? What have they been learning? What overarching themes would you like to teach throughout the week? Curriculum is the jumping off point for the rest of your camp planning, so choose a lesson plan ASAP.
  3. Schedule, schedule, schedule. Which order your scheduling occurs in depends on the needs of your church. This is the stage when you need to plan room rotations and group events, nail down the availability of volunteers, and organize sign ups for a general head count.
  4. Go above and beyond. With so many kids all in one place, things are bound to get hectic. A field trip to Monkey Joe’s will let kids bounce away their extra energy as they recite their favorite songs from the week. We have group pricing available for camps, churches and VBS, and religious groups in Pointe Orlando.

Don’t wait to book a summer field trip at Monkey Joe’s Pointe Orlando.
