How to Plan a Successful Fieldtrip

Posted on May 29, 2015

As a school teacher, daycare teacher, or camp director, you're constantly on the lookout for ways to enrich your students' or campers' experiences. Here that's easier than ever thanks to the many exciting children's activities in Orlando! Below, we'll share some fieldtrip-planning tips for educators, as well as information about our indoor playground facility and party center, Monkey Joe's Pointe Orlando

Fieldtrip Planning Tips

  • Choose a great destination- Consider the ages of the children in your charge, what they will get out of the experience, and how "child-friendly" the place is. What is the goal of the trip? If physical education is the goal (or just plain old fun!), then Monkey Joe's is an excellent choice. Our indoor playground is full of soft and bouncy inflatables, encouraging kids to jump, bounce, climb, and cavort for hours. It's designed for kids 12 and younger, and we even have a toddler area for kids 3 and under.
  • Prepare ahead of time- Always make sure you communicate plans for a field trip well ahead of time to your students' or campers' parents. Make sure they know how their child should dress for the trip and anything else the child may need, like a hat and sunscreen. At Monkey Joe's, you don't have to worry about toting a bunch of gear for kids- just make sure they wear comfy clothes and socks!
  • In case of emergency- Make sure you have up-to-date emergency contact information for every child ahead of time. This should include parents' or guardians' phone numbers, food allergies, and information about the child's medical needs.

We offer group rates to help you plan the perfect field trip, and can provide lunch for your group. Check out our group sales packages, or give us a call to discuss private events!
