It’s Pizza’s Month

Posted on Oct 27, 2016

Yes, we know this week and weekend are all about getting ready to go trick-or-treating, but we had to make sure all our fans knew that October is also National Pizza Month! We didn’t want any of you to miss out on celebrating one of the best foods ever created. So, grab your costumes, buy some candy BUT also order a pizza for the road to celebrate!

National Pizza Month

Let’s back up for a second, why did it take until 1984 to create a National Pizza Month in America? The first pizzeria was opened in America in 1905 in Manhattan. Did it really take almost 80 years to create a national month for this masterpiece? We can all thank Gerry Durnell, founder of Pizza Today, for finally doing what we all wanted and turning October into a month of pizza.

No matter, we finally got it done and we have been able to officially celebrate pizza for over 30 years. That’s why for every Monkey Joe’s birthday party package, we throw in at least one free pizza! But don’t worry, if your kids are a little hungrier you can always add on a few more.

Now a combination of pizza and candy from Halloween could mean a lot of extra calories your kids, and they’ll need to burn them off. But don’t worry, we have a place in mind where your kids can run, jump and play to stay healthy! We hope to see you and your pizza-loving kids around, Lexington. Happy National Pizza Month!
