Family Fun for Fall in Lexington!

Posted on Sep 29, 2017

Fall has begun! As the temperatures even out and the leaves turn, it’s time for families to get together and enjoy all the seasonal activities the Lexington area has to offer. Check out some of our favorite ways to celebrate this season!

  • Many local farms put together corn mazes, pumpkin patches, apple picking, hay rides, treats, and even petting zoos for the fall season. Not only is a visit to a farm festival a fun way to enjoy the weather and get some exercise, but it supports local agriculture and helps kids learn about where their food comes from. Be sure to dress appropriately--high heels, sandals, etc. are not a great choice.
  • Did you know that Lexington is home to a Thriller and Halloween Parade? This celebration of Halloween and Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video includes a parade and a video reenactment on October 29th!
  • Get a little spooky at the Kentucky Horse Park Cemetery Crawl, running weekdays in October.
  • And of course, who could forget Trick-or-Treating? Check out Trick or Treat Night at Safety City, on October 28th. Don’t forget to start gathering your costumes early--the last thing you want is to fight the last-minute crowds at the costume store two days before Halloween!

Here at Monkey Monkey Joe’s Lexington, fall is one of our favorite times of year. If your outdoor activities get rained out, come visit us for some fun in the Jungle! And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook to keep track of our upcoming events!
