Come Get Your Hour of Exercise at Monkey Joe’s!
Posted on Feb 26, 2016
According to the Center for Disease Control and the National Department of Health and Human Services, children need at least one hour of exercise a day. While one hour may not seem like much, when you think about it, how much time do your children actually spend getting exercise?
The three types of recommended exercise are:
Aerobic Activity
Aerobic activity, better known as cardio, should make up most of your kid's physical activity each day. Aerobics include brisk walking, running, swimming -anything that involves strengthening the heart and lungs. Children should have vigorous-intensity aerobic activity at least 3 times a week. You know where is an easy, great source of aerobic activities? Monkey Joe's Lexington! Our obstacle course, jumps and slides are a great source of cardio. Kids are constantly on the move when they're at Monkey Joe's.
Muscle Strengthening Activity
Muscle strengthening activities include gymnastics and push-ups. Like aerobic activity, they should be included in your child's physical activity 3 times a week. Our inflatables at Monkey Joe's make for a great muscle building exercise. Children mimic the tumbles and activities found in gymnastic studios, in a fun, clean and safe environment.
Bone Strengthening Activity
Bone strengthening activities include jumping rope or running, and should be done at least 3 times a week as part of your child's 60 minutes of exercise. Why jump rope solo when you can jump, tumble and play in our inflatables with your friends? By bringing your son or daughter to Monkey's Joe's Lexington, they can get their bone strengthening activities done in a fun, safe way they enjoy and with their friends, too!
Where's the best place to get a combination of each type of exercise?
