Help Monkey Joe’s Kenosha Fill the Food Pantries!

Posted on Nov 02, 2017

The holidays can be stressful, and not just because of all that’s going on. If your family already drowning in the pressure of presents and materialism? Join the food drive at Monkey Joe’s Kenosha!

Now through Monday, November 20th, bring in a nonperishable food item for $2 off regular priced admission. Each donation equal one discount, so if you’re bringing multiple little monkeys, make sure to bring multiple canned goods. You can even let kids pick out their own items to donate at the store, so they feel more involved! All donations from the Monkey Joe’s food drive will go to the Shalom Center. Canned fruits and veggies, canned soups, and bottled water are some of the most common items they need--check out the Shalom Center’s website for more ideas.

Teaching kids to volunteer now helps them develop empathy and compassion, and empowers them to feel like they can change the world for the better. It’s a stressful time--why not get the whole family involved in something they can feel good about? Your church, school, or work may also have volunteer opportunities coming up that are good for you and your family. You can call around to senior centers, animal shelters, and food pantries to see what help they need. Make sure to ask about age-appropriate events for the little ones!

Don’t let the holidays get away from you. Bring your family together to give back to your community and focus on what’s important. And of course, afterwards you can always reward yourselves with a trip to play, jump, and bounce at Monkey Joe’s Kenosha.
