Exceptional Play for Exceptional Kids

Posted on Sep 26, 2017

At Monkey Joe’s Dulles, we’re all about making playtime great for everyone. This includes children with special needs. During our Exceptional Kids Night, we create the perfect environment for your special needs child.

Having a child with special needs or a little one with autism means you have to approach everything a little differently. Playing and interacting with other children might not come naturally, but that doesn’t me it can’t be taught.

Schedule a Playdate

Getting together with other special needs kids and parents can be a great way to develop play skills that other children and parents take for granted. By doing it together at our exceptional kids night, you can develop a great network of parents who are adapting to the same situation you are. Plus, it will open up opportunities for your little one to interact with and make friends with other special needs children. This creates less pressure for the kids to fit in or deal with overstimulation.

Include the Kids in the Planning

When you start planning a playdate with another kid with special needs, it’s can be beneficial to run the plans by both children to make sure everyone is on the same page, understands what is going on ahead of time and provide time for any questions that might come up before the playdate.

Our Bounce Houses Are Great for Every Child

It doesn’t matter if you have a child who is on the spectrum or if you’re adapting to a different sort of special need. Our bounce houses, obstacle courses, slides, games and concessions are great fun for every child. Our indoor playground at Monkey Joe’s is set to have varying levels of challenge. And at our Exceptional Kids Night, we make sure to minimize any distractions that might overstimulate the kids.
