5 Ways to Help Kids Reach Their Goals

Reach for Your Goals!

At Monkey Joe’s Dulles, we make New Year’s resolutions fun! If you’re worried your kids won’t stick to their resolutions to play nice, spend more time with their siblings, and get healthier with regular active play, have no fear. We have some fun tips to help kids stick to their New Year’s resolutions.

5 Tips to Help Kids Reach Their Goals

  1. Make it theirs. Your kids won’t be motivated to reach your goals. Talk with your kids about the benefits of staying healthy or spending more time with family. Then brainstorm fun ways to achieve your family’s New Year’s resolutions (like regular play days at Monkey Joe’s Dulles).
  2. Get specific. If you can’t count it, how are you going to keep it? Instead of making a goal like “make more friends” make sure it’s something your kids can track, such as “play with two new kids this week.”
  3. Write it down. This will help your kids remember their resolutions and give them an easy way to track results.
  4. Make it fun. Bouncing off the walls at Monkey Joe’s is a great way to keep kids active this year. You can also buy a Frequent Jumper Card for 10 discount admissions. When you use up a card, treat your child to a reward like a slice of pizza or fun toy.
  5. Talk about it. Talk to your child about their progress. Ask how they feel about what they’ve accomplished so far. If they’re having trouble sticking to their resolution, brainstorm ways to stay with it.

Your goals are within reach at Monkey Joe’s Dulles. Bounce your way into a bright new year!
