Halloween Safety in Coral Springs

Posted on Oct 27, 2016

It’s important for your kids to stay safe this Halloween while also having fun! Halloween is the best night of the year for most kids, but trick-or-treating can be filled with goblins and ghouls if you aren't careful. Keep your little ones safe this Halloween in Coral Springs with these safety tips...

Plan your route in advance: Make sure you know where you’re going so you don’t get lost. Check to ensure the route is walkable, too, so no one gets tired or grumpy.
Make sure your costumes are easy to walk in: Wear comfy shoes! Even if you have a princess in the pack, avoid heels and choose sneakers. And make sure the costumes aren’t too long, either, or your kids may trip.

Speaking of costumes, skip the masks: Use face paint rather than face masks. A mask can make it hard to see, and hard to breathe.

Stay visible: Make sure your kids are well-lit. Give them cool, spooky glow sticks or use flashlights.

Walk carefully: Cross only at the corners when you’re out walking, and make sure to look for cars. It’s dark out, and drivers may have a hard time seeing all the trick-or-treaters.

Check your kids candy: It may seem like a silly precaution, but it is never a bad idea to check your kids’ candy when they get home. Toss out any unwrapped items, anything that looks questionable, and ration out the treats so your kids don’t eat it all in one night! And of course, save yourself a few treats, too!

Have fun and be safe out there, Coral Springs! And for a great indoor activity this Halloween head to Monkey Joe's on Friday, October 28 for our faBOOlous Halloween party! No advanced booking or reservations are required and walk-ins are always welcome!
