Help Monkey Joe’s Fill the Food Pantries!

Posted on Nov 09, 2017

Halloween is barely over. Are your kids already screaming about what they want for Christmas? Do you feel like your family is already drowning in the commercialization of the holidays? Why not take a break and give back to the community?

Monkey Joe’s Appleton is hosting a canned food drive to benefit the Saint Joseph Food Program. Now through Monday, November 20th, bring in a nonperishable food item to get $2 off one regular-priced admission. One donation equals one discounted admission, so if you’re bringing multiple little monkeys, make sure you bring multiple items. You could even let kids pick out their own donations at the store!

Teaching kids to give back to their community when they’re young sets them up for a lifetime of volunteering. Not only that, but it helps them feel empowered to change the world for the better! In a time when it’s easy to feel helpless, kids and adults alike will benefit from making positive changes to the world.

Finding age-appropriate, fun activities for you and your family isn’t hard. See if your school, workplace, church, or other organization has upcoming volunteer events. You can also contact food banks, homeless shelters, animal rescue groups, and senior centers to see if they have openings you and your kids could fill.

And don’t forget to reward yourselves for your good deeds with some time playing at Monkey Joe’s Appleton! Spending time having fun as a family is a great way to ring in the holidays. Check out our Frequent Jumper Discounts for more savings!
