Healthy Habits For Healthy Kids!

Posted on Jan 26, 2017

It's cold and flu season, so our MJ parents are on edge about our kid's health! We go into full protection mode around this time, and there's ton of preventative measures we recommend for keeping your kids at their optimal health. Here are our best healthy habits for a healthy kid!

  • Eat better. Overall health depends heavily on a good diet, so keep your kids eating healthy. Have them eat breakfast every day, drink tons of water, and eat good snacks like air popped popcorn, nuts and fruit. We know it's a struggle to get them to eat healthy, but don't back down! Kids like patterns, colors and shapes so try everything you can and don't give up.
  • Get exercise. What's a diet without some exercise? Daily physical activity is just as important for kids as it is for adults. It's recommend that children get at least 45 minutes of exercise each day.
  • Get sleep! This is not only important for physical health, but mental as well. It's recommended children get at least 10 hours of sleep per night, and their mood will be enhanced if you put them to sleep and wake them up at the same time each day.
  • Keep clean. Hygiene is key, especially around this time of year! Encourage your kids to be washing their hands, not sharing cups, straws, etc. that could carry germs, and sneezing and coughing into their elbows.

And there you have it! Monkey Joe's Appleton wants to help keep your kids healthy, and we do! Our facility is suitable for kids 3-12 and has plenty of jumps, obstacles and inflatables to keep your kids active all day long. We also used Swisher hygiene cleaning service, who comes through our facility once a week to clear 99.9% of all airborn and surface germs. The kids will be tuckered out and ready for a good nights sleep at the end of the day.

We'll see you soon in the jungle!
