Stay Healthy This Winter!

The cooling weather is welcome after the hot summer, but it also means cold and flu season is right around the corner! Here at Monkey Joe’s we care about all our little monkeys. How can parents help kids stay healthy, mentally and physically, in the colder weather?

  • Eat, Drink, and Sleep. Eating well, sleeping well, and staying hydrated will go a long way towards keeping everyone feeling their best. Kids under 12 need nine to eleven hours of sleep and about one and a half liters of water every day!
  • Exercise. With so much going on at school and assorted activities, most kids don’t get the 60 minutes of physical activity per day that experts recommend. Check out your local Monkey Joe’s franchise for weekly specials, or to pick up a Frequent Jumper Card, and make sure your kids get enough exercise!
  • Avoid Illness. Washing hands is the best way to prevent many illnesses! Make sure kids understand how to properly wash their hands with soap and warm water. Speak with your pediatrician to see if flu shots are right for your kids.
  • Stay Warm. While just being cold isn’t enough to make you catch a cold, it’s no fun! Make sure kids stay warm and dry as temperatures drop. Thick socks, warm gloves, and layers of clothing will go a long way towards keeping everyone cozy.

Don’t forget: physical activity is great for the brain! Monkey Joe’s is always warm, safe, and comfortable for bouncing fun in the fall and winter months.
