It may sound crazy when you're stuck in mall traffic or waiting in yet another check out line, but it is possible to have a stress-free (or at least less stressful) holiday season! When the kids are out of school and family is in town, the hustle and bustle can get the better of you, but with our tips, you’ll feel calm, cool and collected no matter what the holidays throw at you!

3 Tips for Happier, Healthier Holidays

  • Make sure your kids get plenty of sleep: When they’re out of school, your kids will probably try to push your boundaries and stay up late. Instead, keep them well-rested so they’re better able to deal with the changes in your routine. This way, there will be no grumbling or groaning when they need to go shopping with you or hang out with the relatives!
  • Make sure they get plenty of exercise, too: Getting enough physical activity will not only help them sleep better, it will also keep them happy! We all know kids need to play every day, and when they’re out of school, sometimes your busy schedule will preclude playtime. Make sure to schedule it. Even when the weather is bad, you can take the kids to Monkey Joe's indoor playgrounds to burn off energy! It’s a great way for everyone to de-stress and have fun, so find your nearest Monkey Joe's and let your little monkeys cut loose in our indoor inflatable playground
  • Finally, enjoy the holidays by indulging in festive treats in moderation. Parties and goodies are part of what makes the holiday fun for kids, but too many treats are unhealthy for you and for your kids. If the family is going to a holiday party, make sure you all eat a small meal or large snack of healthy, filling foods before you go so you won’t all fill up on treats. And if you know your kids are heading to a party with lots of sugary sweets, be sure to feed them a healthy meal before they go.
