3 Ways to Ace Back to School Prep

It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over, but for many kids, another school year is right around the corner. Is your child prepared for another year of learning? Make the school year a success with these back to school tips from Monkey Joe’s.

3 Back to School Tips for a Great Start to the Year

  1. Go shopping. If you want your kids to be prepared for that first bell, they’ll need a backpack full of pencils, notebooks, and binders in colorful prints. But residents of Georgia and Massachusetts should be careful when planning back-to-school shopping in 2017. This year’s tax-free weekend has been cancelled in both states. Stick to scoring deals online and finding individual store sales.
  2. Set the alarm. Do you have to drag your kids out of bed in the mornings? Don’t let them hit snooze on school this year! Start your school year schedule early to make sure everything goes smoothly on the first day of school. It takes three weeks to form a habit, so start early morning wake up calls in July so the kids are prepared.
  3. Talk to the teacher. Most schools have an orientation night that allows parents to meet their child’s teacher, ask them questions, and tour their kid’s future classroom. This is also a great opportunity to let kids meet their future classmates, catch up with school friends, and overcome shyness or school jitters by meeting their new teacher.

Did you know that bouncing around is good for kids’ brains? When your kids are ready for a break, swing over to your local Monkey Joe’s. It’s the perfect after-school activity to help your kids stay happy and healthy!
